Within the mining and mineral process industries, reutilization of equipment has become a less expensive option over purchasing new equipment. CMI has addressed this need by providing the most extensive remanufacturing services in the industry for remanufactured equipment including drive assemblies, machines and wear items.

During the remanufacturing process, CMI disassembles and cleans each piece of used equipment and thoroughly inspects each to determine: 1) if it meets the original equipment and industry specifications and standards; 2) if it can be repaired to specifications without sacrificing material integrity; or 3) if it must be destroyed due to irreparable damages. CMI also uses the highest quality materials when remanufacturing any part or piece of equipment. Additionally, as an original equipment manufacturer, we always have a complete set of specifications for every component used on each of our machines, we provide new components to replace a machine that will sacrifice original specifications during the repair process, and we have all necessary components to bring a used piece of equipment up to the most current and advanced version of that machine.

CMI makes it a point to purchase only the highest quality used equipment, which means that each piece of remanufactured equipment starts with a main base that has structural integrity. Our advanced research and development efforts allows us to make modifications to older machines in the remanufacturing process to incorporate the latest technology in high performance, low operating cost centrifuges. CMI also uses a combination of remanufactured components – main machine base and drive assembly -- and new components – seals, bearings, oil systems, rotating wear parts, fasteners and rubberized components – in order to produce the highest quality remanufactured machines on the market.

To ensure quick turnaround time and minimal “machine down” time for our customers requiring remanufactured equipment and/or parts, CMI has established an effective distribution network and maintains a broad inventory of remanufactured drive assemblies ready to exchange on a one-for-one basis. Customers are provided with an operational machine in a short time, usually within 24 hours, and without having to wait on completion of the remanufacturing process. Customers are only billed for the work and repair necessary to return their old unit to a serviceable condition, at which time the machine is placed in CMI’s inventory for future use.

CMI also offers remanufacturing services for several wear items including rotors and cones for our screen-scroll centrifuges and baskets for all CMI centrifuge models. Such items are a cost effective alternative to new equipment and provide the same reliability and performance as all CMI equipment at half the price of other new machines.
