Material Flow - CMI Model VC Vibratory Centrifuge
Material to be processed enters the top of the machine
through a hopper, which distributes it evenly over the
bottom of the rotating basket. Feed slurry is then gently
accelerated to the peripheral speed of the screen by
frictional force of the wear plate and previously accelerated
material.
After acceleration, the solids are conveyed up the
screen by vibratory action. As the material moves up
the screen, centrifugal force removes liquids through
the screen while carrying the solids up to the discharge
area. Vibratory agitation and bed looseness enhance
solid-liquid separation during the material's brief
stay in the centrifuge.
Liquids are gathered in the launder and discharged
through effluent openings. Solids being discharged from
the top of the screen are slowed by contacting retained
solids in the lid and fall to the bottom of the unit
for removal.
